Actor Ryan Reynolds is totally a head turner. With his good looks and ravishing physique, this hunk celebrity is best known for his roles in several comedy and romantic films. But did you know that he started his acting career on television?

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Ryan's career began in 1990 when he starred as Billy in the Canadian-produced teen soap Hillside, distributed in the United States by Nickelodeon as Fifteen. As an adult, he was then cast in the American television series Two Guys and a Girl (originally titled Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place), where he played the medical student Michael "Berg" Bergen. The show was a hit and he became popular with the American audience. He has also appeared in the second season finale of Scrubs.

Ryan's successful television career paved the way for him to try the big screen. He has starred in a string of films such as Van Wilder, Waiting..., Just Friends, Definitely, Maybe, The Proposal, the remake of The Amityville Horror, Blade: Trinity, and Smokin' Aces. He also portrayed Deadpool in the X-Men spinoff X-Men Origins: Wolverine and will portray him again in a recently announced spin-off called Deadpool. He will also play the superhero Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in Warner Bros.' upcoming film Green Lantern, slated for release in 2011.
