This hot young actress is best known for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award winning Disney Channel Original Series, Wizards of Waverly Place. She also starred in the made-for-television Disney Channel movies, Princess Protection Program and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.

Born in Grand Prairie, Texas, Selena began her acting career at age seven, playing Gianna on Barney and Friends. She was discovered in 2004 by Disney Channel during a nationwide scouting and she first appeared as a guest star on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She also had another guest appearance, that later turned into a recurring role, on Hannah Montana from season's two to three. In early 2007, she was cast in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place as one of the three main characters.

Wizards of Waverly Place was a hit and it made Selena one of the hottest young celebrities today. Not only that, the 17-year-old star also branched out into the music scene. Her band, Selena Gomez and the Scene, released their debut studio album in September 2009 and it was certified Gold by RIAA in March 2010.
