Mork and Mindy is an American science fiction sitcom aired for four seasons on ABC, from 1978 to 1982. The series starred Robin Williams as Mork, an alien who comes to Earth from the planet Ork in a small, one-man egg-shaped spaceship. Pam Dawber co-starred as Mindy McConnell, his human friend and roommate.

Mork's mission is to observe human behavior. He befriends Mindy and after discovering Mork is an alien, she promises to keep his true identity a secret and allows him to move into her attic. Storylines usually centered on Mork's attempts to understand human behavior and American culture as Mindy helps him to adjust to life on Earth. At the end of each episode, Mork reports back to his superior, Orson (voiced by Ralph James) on what he has learned about Earth. These end-of-show summaries allow Mork to comment humorously on social norms.

The show was a spin-off from the sitcom Happy Days, where in the character of Mork first appeared in the season five episode "My Favorite Orkan". The character proved to be popular enough with the audience to go forward with the planned series of his own. Mork and Mindy married in the show's final season.
