Hannah Montana is an American television series that debuted in March 2006 on Disney Channel. It stars Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, and Jason Earles. The series focuses on a girl named Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.

Created by Michael Poryes, Rich Correll, and Barry O'Brien, the show has been renewed for the fourth and final season, which was produced from January to May 2010. The final season is expected to premiere in July 2010 and is being promoted as Hannah Montana Forever.

Hannah Montana and its soundtrack albums are a commercial hit, catapulting Miley Cyrus to stardom. The sitcom also spawned two successful movies -- one is a concert film presented in 3-D, which is Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, and the other one is the film adaptation of the series, Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Miley is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Hannah Montana was a hit among children and teenagers, leading Miley to a successful career in music and film. In 2008, she was listed in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in The World. Forbes magazine ranked her #35 on the "Celebrity 100" list for earning $25 million in 2008 and in 2009, her rank improved to #29. She was also ranked number four on Billboard's list of the Top Female Artists of 2009, above artists such as Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson.

And yes, she is the younger sister of Academy Award-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment of the blockbuster hit film, The Sixth Sense. She first started appearing in commercials in 1998 and made her acting debut in the 1999 film The Secret Life of Girls.

In 2002, Emily appeared in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams in which she portrayed the character of Gerti Giggles. In 2003, she reprised her role in the third and final part of the trilogy, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. The films were successful and led to her winning the "Young Artist Award" for Best performance in a feature film.

The young star's biggest television break came when she landed the role of Lilly in in the Disney Channel tv series, Hannah Montana. The show, which debuted on March 24, 2006, scored record ratings for Disney Channel with a viewership of 5.4 million viewers, a response beyond their wildest expectations. This has established Emily as one of the hottest young actresses of today's generation. She also recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It" which got to #1 on the Radio Disney Top 30 of the Week.
